A huge storm developed in the Western Atlantic earlier this week with the wave buoys showing 24ft and 20 secs, which equals 60-70ft surf at the right locations! The best spot it seems was Nazare in Portugal with the surf being funneled by a deep water canyon just off the coast creating some monster waves one of which is being hailed as a 100ft wave surfed by Garrett McNamarra on “Big Monday” 28th Jan 2013. The size isn’t confirmed yet, but it did look huge!
